About Jill

With 30 years of hands-on horse experience, I bring a lifelong passion and deep knowledge to every rider and horse I work with. I started riding at a young age on my cousins’ horses — often bareback and with little guidance — which gave me an exceptional foundation of balance, feel, and control. By age 8, I began formal lessons and spent nearly every day at the barn, volunteering and working in exchange for rides. Those years taught me not only how to ride but also how to care for horses from the ground up.

Throughout my life, I worked at several farms, eventually becoming a barn manager, trainer, and instructor. I also spent a season in California at an Arabian breeding and show barn, further expanding my experience. Alongside this, I had the privilege of training with an Olympian from age 8 until his retirement, while also learning from other trainers and clinicians.

Over the years, I’ve trained and competed in both English and Western disciplines, with a strong focus on hunter/jumpers, dressage, and barrel racing. While I didn’t have the resources to show at the highest levels myself, I’ve successfully coached students who have gone on to win top ribbons at shows across the East Coast. My teaching and training style is rooted in patience, clear communication, and building a strong foundation between horse and rider. I’ve worked with everything from green horses to seasoned show partners, and I tailor my approach to fit each horse and rider’s individual needs.

In addition to teaching, I also offer horse training. This includes working with green horses who need a solid start, horses with behavioral issues (once health concerns have been ruled out), and those who simply need their training furthered. My approach emphasizes trust, clear communication, and consistency — creating confident, willing partners both on the ground and under saddle.

My background also includes 14 years in hospitality, which sharpened my customer service and organizational skills — qualities I bring into my equine services.

With decades of experience, a well-rounded background, and a passion for both horses and teaching, I’m committed to helping riders and horses reach their full potential. I primarily serve Central Florida, from Orlando to Clermont, but am available to travel to other areas; travel fees may apply depending on distance.
